Manifesto
This project is driven by a deep conviction: AI’s impact deserves clear thinking.
AI is already transforming society and is likely to remain part of it.
Technology has repeatedly expanded human possibilities while creating new risks. AI brings this tension to a new scale. It is increasingly woven into everyday life, influences how information is produced and supports decisions that shape our world.
Its capacity to help and to harm makes it neither inherently beneficial nor inherently destructive. Understanding all its consequences, including its environmental impact, is therefore a collective responsibility.
Its environmental impact deserves careful attention.
The purpose is not to reach a predetermined verdict, but to support informed choices.
Its impact cannot be reduced to a single number. Different questions, boundaries and time horizons reveal different parts of the picture.
Evidence does not decide what should be considered acceptable.
Facts alone are not sufficient. They must be interpreted within a broader context. That interpretation involves personal judgment, shaped by our priorities, our expectations and the importance we give AI in our lives.
We believe that a clearer understanding of AI’s impacts will help citizens make better decisions about how this technology should serve humanity.
